Back in July I mentioned using your BlackBerry and Mac together was going to get a lot easier. That time is fast approaching. The new BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac will be released Friday October 2nd. So all you BlackBerry owners using Mac’s – at least you have half the equation right – can stop using Boot Camp or whatever program you use to run Windows on your Mac.

With the environment and climate change being two of the biggest world issues right now, there are many companies more concerned about greenwashing than actually trying to make a difference. This may have been true about Apple several years ago, but that is changing. The company named after a fruit is turning a new leaf – Apple has launched a new microsite aimed at letting everyone know just how its products and the company impact our environment.

Myself like many other iPhone 3GS owners have decided against jailbreaking our devices. For me, the big reason I would jailbreak my 3G was so that I could shoot video using Cycorder. But with the 3GS’ video capabilities I don’t need that app anymore. But a new application coming soon may sway some people to rethink jailbreaking.

Back in July Rogers announced it was launching its 21 Mbps HSPA+ Network. Today it announced it is now live in Canada’s five largest cities: Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver. Throughout next year, Rogers plans to expand the new network upgrade to additional Canadian cities. Currently only Rogers new Internet Stick is the only device that supports 21 Mbps. So what does this mean for iPhone users?
The iPhone 3G has a maximum speed of 3.6 Mbps while the 3GS tops out at 7.2 Mbps. Of course in the real world neither reach those speeds. But, with the 21 Mbps upgrade to the Rogers network, we could see results a little closer to the max speeds.
Are you in one of the cities seeing the upgrade today? I’d love to hear what your speed tests yield. Leave me a comment.

It’s one of those debates that for now remains unsettled. Do cell phones have a negative affect on our health? Some studies have linked cell phone radiation to medical problems, and others point to there is no conclusive evidence. What is for certain, the ever evolving and popular devices DO emit radiation. Late last week, the Environmental Working Group released a very comprehensive guide to cell phone radiation, rating 1000 cell phones.
