My Backup Routine Bell Palm Pre Ad Makes Me Think Of The iPhone
Aug 20

iPhone

I’m going to be honest – I haven’t read the iPhone manual. I find my 3G very intuitive and it was super easy to use right out of the box. But from time to time I noticed my battery draining really fast and my iPod App would be running when I haven’t turned it on. I couldn’t figure out what was going on. But since it only happened maybe once every 3 months I thought nothing of it. Then a friend of mine at work pointed out he could double tap the home button to launch his iPod player. SAY WHAT!?!? I tried it and sure enough, my iPod player launched. I must have been accidentally double tapping the home button and launching my iPod. So I did a little more searching and found in the Settings, that you can customize this — so here’s how.

The first thing you want to do is open your iPhone settings.

Next scroll down a little until you see General. Open that.

Again, scroll down and open Home.

Now, if you’re running 3.0+ you’ll have 5 choices…

  1. Home
  2. Search
  3. Phone Favorites
  4. Camera
  5. iPod

If you’re running anything later than 3.0 you’ll only be able to chose from Home, Phone Favorites or iPod.

Now just choose which one you want, go back to your home screen and double tape the home button – voila! Not only does it work from your home screen, but it works from your lock screen as well – unless you’re using Passcode Lock. Then you have to wait until you’re at the home screen.

You know, i didn’t know that either! I’ve always thought it was just home. I’m going to switch it to phone. You know so that when i’m driving and i need to make a call im not quite as dangerous as when i have to look at the phone and find the phone icon!
