attmmsI understand it costs companies a lot of money to shoot and put together new ad campaigns – but you’d think with all the pressure AT&T in the US has been getting about not offering MMS on the iPhone, that when it did announce it, it could get it right. Not the case.

The above picture is taken from the Media Kits section on the AT&T website. So what’s wrong with this picture? What’s that she’s using – the original iPhone. Problem is, Apple didn’t enable MMS for the original iPhone – only the 3G and the 3GS. Yet there it is, a picture of a woman using the original iPhone with the banner “An update on iPhone MMS for our Mobility Customer”.

To be fair, it’s probably just a stock picture from back when the original iPhone was launched and AT&T just slapped it on a banner. But even the release makes no mention of the original iPhone – yet there it is in the picture. Yes it’s great that our neighbours to the south are finally going to be getting something us Canadians have been enjoying since June, but AT&T really should be paying attention to these little details. Here is the full press release.
