ios4

If you’re anxious to get iOS4 up and running on your iPhone or iPod Touch, you don’t have to wait until June 21st. You can install it now as long as you’re using a MAC. Sorry Windows users, you’ll have to wait until the official release.

Another important point is this is only for iPhone 3G & 3GS, as well as the 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen iPod Touches.

UPDATE: Starbucks has commented via Twitter about the apps not yet being available in Canada …

we are working on bringing the iPhone apps to Canada, promise! Will announce it here as soon as I have a date!

Lets hope the announcement comes soon.

I love a good cup of coffee – and while Starbucks isn’t usually my first choice, I do know there are plenty of them around when I need a quick caffeine fix. I’ve used a couple of apps that show the locations of the nearest Starbucks before, but I was never blown away. So I was really excited when I heard Starbucks was releasing official apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch. What was until I tried to find them in the app store.

Gizmodo Apple iTablet Mockup

It’s been a very busy few days at the Meador’s Musings household. But what better way to get back into the swing of blogging than a new iTablet rumour. This one would indicate the fabled device will be announced in January and be available in early summer – possibly around the same time as a new iPhone. Remember, the 3GS was released in June.

Picture From ifixit.com

It would appear Apple may indeed have wanted or plans to add a camera to the iPod Touch. The folks at ifixit have done their usual teardown of new devices and found evidence to suggest a camera is on its way.

iPodTouchIf you’ve read anything about Apple’s “it’s only rock and roll” event yesterday you know the big news wasn’t what was announced but what wasn’t announced. It’s been all the talk on blogs, tech websites, the media and every other Apple circle – the iPod Touch didn’t get a camera, but the Nano got video recording capability. I even touched on it yesterday. This story isn’t going away any time fast. Not by a long shot.

JobsBy now I sure you’ve read all about today’s Apple “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it” event. You know the iPod Touch ISN’T getting a camera and that the Nano can now record video. Yes, most of my predictions – and pretty much all the predictions out there were wrong. Here’s what I think happened.

5 masked robbers made quick work of an Apple Store in Marlton, New Jersey. After breaking through the door, they quickly scooped up 23 MacBook Pros, 14 iPhones and 9 iPod touches – all this in about 30 seconds. So if you happen upon some Apple products for sale that don’t include essential accessories – like power cords – you may want to think twice.

apple_eventFriends don’t let friends buy Apple products on the verge of being updated. If you know someone looking to buy and iPod before September 9th, it is your duty to stop them. Even if you’re at a store and you see someone looking at picking up an iPod, kindly inform them next week they’ll be able to buy an iPod with more features at the same price point.

iphonecameraAlthough still not official, it’s a good bet the next generation iPod Touch and iPod Nano’s are going to be able to take pictures. But what’s making the rounds online today is that the iPod Classic may be able to capture photos as well.

It’s said that “Necessity is the mother of invention”. Those words have never been more true then they are when it comes to this invention by London design student Lee Washington. He – like millions of us out there – got fed up with his headphones getting all tangled up, so he went out and did something about it. Using the principles behind ziplock bags, he invented headphones that sick together when not in use. Thus eliminating messy tangles. Washington is now exploring how to patent the idea.

Without further adieu, here is Washington’s ziplock headphones demonstration video…
