Back in July I mentioned using your BlackBerry and Mac together was going to get a lot easier. That time is fast approaching. The new BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac will be released Friday October 2nd. So all you BlackBerry owners using Mac’s – at least you have half the equation right – can stop using Boot Camp or whatever program you use to run Windows on your Mac.

These finds gets me excited about the possibility of an Apple tablet that can run Mac OS X. The folks over at Cult Of Mac point out a few new features in Snow Leopard that would be ideal for a larger touchscreen device.
I got it. Stopped off at the Apple store after work to pick up a copy of Snow Leopard – Mac OS 10.6. When I got there the store was packed. It’s always busy, but the line up of people wanting to pay for stuff was ridiculous.

UPDATE – Snow Leopard WILL be available at Apple retail stores in Canada on Friday. It’s the same for the U.S. Just read the Canadian news release from Apple.
Apple today announced that Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard will go on sale Friday, August 28 at Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers, and that Apple’s online store is now accepting pre-orders. Snow Leopard builds on a decade of OS X innovation and success with hundreds of refinements, new core technologies and out of the box support for Microsoft Exchange. Snow Leopard will be available as an upgrade for Mac OS X Leopard users for $35.
Apple’s online store was down briefly this morning. That usually means an update to its products – and sure enough, you can now pre-order your copy of Snow Leopard. It’s the next generation of Apple’s Mac OS X – which will be 10.6.
A single use copy of Snow Leopard will run you $35 ($29 U.S.) or $59 ($49 U.S.) for a 5-user Family Pack. What’s not 100% sure for us in Canada is when it’ll be delivered. The Apple site says it will be shipped by this Friday – August 28th. For those in the U.S. Apple says it will be delivered on Friday.
In any case I’ll just wait until it arrives at the Apple Store – which is usually the same day it’s scheduled for delivery.
Apple has released a couple of updates for Mac users. The first, a security update. It’s supposed to protect your system against remote attacks.
Apple today announced its third quarter fiscal results ending June 27, 2009 – and as the Cupertino company’s news release states – “Best Non-Holiday Quarter Revenue and Earnings in Apple History”
While I continue to try to convert people over to the iPhone, I know there are many of you out there there that still love your BlackBerry’s. Why? I’m not sure. But on things for sure, using your BalckBerry with a Mac is about to become a whole lot easier.
