The official launch of the iPhone 4 isn’t supposed to be until June 24th – but today, some people in the U.S. started receiving theirs – a full two days early. They were quick to post pictures and video’s to prove they weren’t lying.
We’ll probably see a lot more pictures and video’s of the new iPhone 4 on Wednesday. That’s because some people who pre-ordered their devices got emails from Apple confirming they’d receive their phones on the 23rd.
There is plenty of speculation online as to why Apple – which is usually very strict about products not being released early – has allowed for the early delivery. Some believe it’s a way to say sorry for al the problems with the pre-order on June 15th. While others claim it could be so there isn’t 600,000 people all trying to activate their phones all at once on the the 24th. We probably won’t know for sure unless Steve Jobs decides to let us know.
As well, a number of sites got review units and have their reviews up. The general consensus – the screen is spectacular, the build is solid, and it’s blazing fast.
Oh why Steve have you not announced a release date for us Canadians? I am so jealous of everyone who’s getting their phone. Oh well, at least we’ll be able to get unlocked iPhone 4’s. It makes the wait a little more bearable.
It was my sons first birthday recently. For his party we did an under the sea theme. We had plenty of fish decorations and my wife made the most amazing turtle cake.
I thought it would be fun to show off the iPad during the party, so I wanted to find a cool Aquarium type app. I found two that I purchased, so here is a look at the first one. Continue reading »
I recently received a message on twitter from developers MaxNick. They said they had a new iPhone app that myself, my website readers and YouTube viewers might be interested in. iCurling. Being Canadian I jumped at the opportunity to review this game.
I’ve been playing it several days, and I can honestly say I’m really enjoying it. Just a quick note. The app can be played on the iPad as well. You can tap the two times and make it full screen. Yes, like all the other iPhone apps on the iPad it makes the graphics a little pixely. But for this game, as it is not graphic intensive, it plays and looks really good.
I’ve always enjoyed pinball. I spent quite a few dollars playing Star Wars and Star Trek during lunch at College. But I’ve never really found a decent portable pinball game until now.
Pinball HD is quite simply awesome. The graphics, sound and game play are stunning. And for only $2.99 in the App Store, you can’t pass it up.
While I primarily use the iPad at home, there are times I want to take it out on the town. I could simply carry it as is in the Apple iPad case but that’s not very secure. I could throw it in a backpack, but I find them too big for simply carrying the iPad. I needed something a little smaller.
While in Seattle we stopped in to the Kenneth Cole Outlet store and I gravitated towards the Coated Canvas Day Bag. It’s the perfect fit. Not too big, not too small. It fits the iPad, the iPhone, my wallet, and a few other items perfectly.
The two biggest questions I get asked from Canadians looking to buy an iPad is, what case should I buy, and is it worth it to get the official Apple iPad case?
I’m here to answer those questions. I picked up the Apple iPad case when I bought my iPad in Seattle. Despite some poor reviews I had read and seen prior to my purchase, I decided to pay the $39 ($45 in Canada) because there weren’t a lot of other options at the Apple store.
Having used now for almost two weeks, I can honestly say – I love it! It is the perfect case for me right now. Yes, I’ll probably cases as more become available, but for right now, this case is great. I highly recommend it.
Here is a quick video review of the case. Enjoy.
So what do you think? Are you going to try the Apple iPad case? Do you already own it? Let me know what you think. Leave a comment below.
As I mentioned in my previous post, Canadians can now pre-order the iPad from the Apple online store. You’ll receive them on May 28-th, the same day they go on sale at Apple’s retail stores.
The big decision for buyers is whether to go with the WiFi only version or spend the extra cash and get the 3G model. Many people based their decision on the early data plan rates Apple released for Rogers – which of course were almost 100% correct. The add the iPad to your current data plan has since been dropped – angering a lot of Rogers customers.
I’ve been using the new Facebook app on my iPhone for a day now. I did not like it at first. I hated the main screen as seen above, and I hated all the screen touches I needed to get to certain areas of Facebook. That’s why I waited a day before giving you a review.
Before I get into my review of Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, I just want to warn you – if you haven’t seen the movie and don’t want any spoilers, then you probably shouldn’t click on “Continue Reading”. Otherwise, enjoy my review – and please let me know if you agree or disagree.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. After spending 150 minutes watching this movie, I think a better title would be … Transformers: Optimus Prime vs. the Decepticons.
